निज भाषा उन्नति अहै, सब उन्नति को मूल।
बिन निज भाषा-ज्ञान के, मिटत न हिय को सूल॥
बिन निज भाषा-ज्ञान के, मिटत न हिय को सूल॥
Transliteration:
Nij bhaasha unnati ahai, sab unnati ko mool
Bin nij bhaasha-gyaan ke, mitat na hiy ko shool
Translation:
Hindi: अपनी भाषा की उन्नति ही हर प्रकार की उन्नति की जड़ है;
अपनी भाषा के ज्ञान के बिना मन की पीड़ा दूर नहीं होती।
English: One's own language is the foundation of all progress;
Without knowledge of one's own language, the heart's deepest pain cannot be removed.
